Ivan Paduart took his first piano lessons at the age of ten. After studying at the Royal Conservatory of Rotterdam and collaborating with several Belgian and American musicians, he produced a first fusion album "Aftertouch" in 1990.
In 1993 Ivan released "Illusions Sensorielles" with Richard Galliano, "Time Gone By" with Tom Harrell and "Folies Douces": jazzy, impressionist compositions, tinted here and there with Latin accents. He played concerts in Italy, France and Canada, and then in 2005 he became the pianist of Toots Thielemans for 20 concerts throughout Europe.
As of 1996 Ivan focused amost exclusively on the trio and he toured in Sweden, Denmark, Portugal, Switzerland, France, Italy, Tunisia, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and even China. Sometimes the trio was enhanced by special guests such as Toots Thielemans, Bert Joris, Fay Claassen or Richard Galliano.
He released his first solo album in 2005: "Alone".
Ivan also played in a duo with his old friend Richard Galliano and in late 2011 gave a series of concerts with guitarist Sylvain Luc. In 2012 he recorded "Ibiza" and in 2014 "Enivrance" with Philippe Aerts (bass) and Hans Van Oosterhout (drums).
His new "Catharsis" project with Quentin Dujardin, Manu Katché, Richard Bona and Bert Joris was released in September 2016.
