Australian-born Kathleen Potton grew up in the small town of Tamworth known as the “Nashville of Australia”. At home, she lived with her parents eclectic
musical tastes: her mother listened to classical music and swing-era jazz, while her father was a fan of classic rock and folk by the likes of The
Beatles, Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen.
Having studied classical piano and voice since childhood, she initially pursued a classical music degree in Sydney, before being granted a scholarship to study jazz at Lasalle College of the Arts in Singapore. It was here where she first really began writing her own music, documenting her travels and experiences through song.

"This is an impressive debut." - All About Jazz
"This lady’s music is so incredibly tasteful... her music gives life." - J.Hoard (Grammy winning vocalist)
"Kathleen’s writing is as intuitive as it is imaginative, never shying away from complexity, nor relying upon it for interest. Her vocal performances on this record are graceful and understated, allowing the songs to speak for themselves without tricks or flash." - Alan Hampton
